What to consider pre-pregnancy
A very important population we have worked with are women who want to lose a few pounds before “trying” to get pregnant. We do not take the responsibility of working with these clients lightly. Being overweight during pregnancy can cause complications for you and your baby. The more overweight you are, the more likely you are to have pregnancy complications. But there are things you can do before and during pregnancy to help you have a healthy baby.
Why you should make sure you’re at a healthy weight before becoming pregnant
By being proactive and getting to a healthy weight before pregnancy, you can reduce your risk of:
1. Infertility
2. Gestational Diabetes
3. High-blood Pressure
4. Preeclampsia
5. Complications during Birth.
What to do next
Speak to your doctor and ask them what a healthy weight range would be for you. Once you have that goal in mind, work to lose those pounds by using the tips we’ve provided in past posts or talk to one of our coaches! We have helped many clients, pre- and post-pregnancy, be at their absolute best health for them and their baby.
